But Cadbury beats Hershey's anyday.

eleven things.

Monday, March 12, 2012

I suppose I might be crashing the party a little as technically one must be tagged in order to participate, but Danielle did invite anyone to join in. So, I shall!

There are five rules:

1 // Post these rules.
2 // Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3 // Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4 // Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5 // Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.

Kayaking on Boxing Day, December 2011

Eleven random things:

1 // I really cannot wait to turn 27. This time last year I couldn't wait to turn 26. I always think that my next age is the best number ever. 27 feels good.

2 // I got my first pair of prescription glasses at eight years old and have been wearing glasses full time since I was thirteen. I wear contact lenses from time to time but generally only when I'm swimming, playing sport or for a special all-day event such as a wedding. I rather like wearing glasses and don't find them a nuisance or an inconvenience at all.

3 // There's nothing about my body that I'd change. Honestly. I feel lucky to have the healthy body I've been given and I choose to look after it.

4 // I can't sing. I really can't sing. At all. I'm not one of those people who bashfully claims, "Oh, no, I can't really sing..." but who, it turns out, can actually hold a decent note. No, I'm just dreadful.

5 // I don't like to use iPods or other portable music players. When exercising or taking short trips on the bus or train I prefer to watch and listen to what is around me (or read a book). And I have tiny ears so standard earphones pop straight out and need to be jammed in so tight they hurt. During my fourteen hour flight to the US later this week, though, to help pass the time I plan to borrow my mum's discman and listen to a pile of CDs. So hip, you guys.

I've decided to only list five random things because I think that's enough, don't you? I honestly cannot think of another six things about me that are worth writing about! I know that a personal blog is about oneself, but sometimes it seems to me that we all talk about ourselves a bit too much...

Questions from Danielle:

1 // If money, schooling or time was no obstacle, what career would you choose? I'd be a travel writer/critic. I know this career involves some not-so-pleasant aspects (sub-standard accommodation, pickpockets, food poisoning, jetlag, etc), but I'd consider the pros to far, far outweigh the cons.

2 // What's the one thing you look forward to every day? Lately, I've really been looking forward to what each day may hold. I know that sounds silly, but it's true. I think this attitude has a lot to do with rising early. I feel like I can get more out of my day. I look forward to what I can achieve with the coming fifteen hours.

3 // What is your number one, all-time, favourite blog? Oh, wow. This was a difficult one. Probably *WE LIVE YOUNG*.

4 // Biggest online pet peeve? Vanity and pretentiousness.

5 // What is your all-time favourite book? My favourite book for the last eight or nine years was J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye, but as of a few months ago it's now Alice Grant Rosman's Visitors to Hugo.

6 // What would your last meal be? Snapper and fresh asparagus spears on mashed potato with lemon butter sauce, with a side salad sprinkled with Italian balsamic vinegar dressing. Not that Australia has the death penalty anyway. But if I were to suddenly be plowed down by a speeding bus, I would hope that that would be the last meal I would've consumed prior to my untimely demise.

7 // Do you believe in love at first site? No. I discussed this topic here.

8 // What would your ideal Sunday morning consist of? A leisurely wake up sans alarm to a cool but sunny morning, bed hugs, an early morning walk, a shower that I emerge from with clean hair, eggs benedict and coffee on the back porch, then any fun activity that I feel like doing on a whim!

9 // Why do you blog? I began this blog as a way to document my life and things that inspire me. I view it like a personal online scrapbook in which I like to inspire anyone with interests similar to mine.

10 // If you had to choose one colour to wear forever, what would you pick? Black, hands down. I really do love to wear black and I think it suits me!

11 // What is your all-time favourite band? Powderfinger.

Questions for the people I am tagging:

1 // Coffee or tea? Neither? Why?
2 // If you could live during any time period when would it be and why?
3 // What is your ideal date?
4 // Tell me your favourite thing about the state you live in.
5 // Are you a morning or an evening person?
6 // Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
7 // What is your happiest childhood memory?
8 // Have you ever met someone famous?
9 // What is your favourite thing about blogging?
10 // Do you still read magazines? If so which ones?
11 // What is your biggest accomplishment thus far in life?

I tag Fran, Karen, Jess, Sam, Louise, Cass, Ramsey and anyone who wants to participate. If you choose to answer the questions I've set (this means anyone), please post a link to your answers in the comments so that I can check them out!
